Sentiment in the Forex Market: Indicators and Strategies To Profit from Crowd Behavior and Market Extremes
            196 pages | Wiley (August 4, 2008) | ISBN: 0470208236 | PDF | 4 Mb

Crowds move markets and at major market turning points, the crowds are almost always wrong. When crowd sentiment is overwhelmingly positive or overwhelmingly negative – it's a signal that the trend is exhausted and the market is ready to move powerfully in the opposite direction. Sentiment has long been a tool used by equity, futures, and options traders.

In Sentiment in the Forex Market, FXCM analyst Jaime Saettele applies sentiment analysis to the currency market, using both traditional and new sentiment indicators, including: Commitment of Traders reports; time cycles; pivot points; oscillators; and Fibonacci time and price ratios. He also explains how to interpret news coverage of the markets to get a sense of when participants have become overly bullish or bearish. Saettele points out that several famous traders such as George Soros and Robert Prechter made huge profits by identifying shifts in crowd sentiment at major market turning points. Many individual traders lose money in the currency market, Saettele asserts, because they are too short-term oriented and trade impulsively. He believes retail traders would be much more successful if they adopted a longer-term, contrarian approach, utilizing sentiment indicators to position themselves at the beginning points of major trends.

Clifford Bennett “Warrior Trading: Inside the Mind of an Elite Currency Trader"
              Wiley | 2006-03-03 | ISBN: 0471772240 | 172 pages | PDF | 1,4 MB

Today's global financial markets are every bit as vicious psychologically, and sometimes even physically, as the battles the great warriors throughout history have faced. Just as the warriors of old rode out to battle with the confidence and knowledge to conquer new lands and foes, so do the warriors of the market who thrive on the battleground of the trading floor.
In Warrior Trading, Clifford Bennett, one of today's leading currency forecasters, outlines a path to trading success by highlighting the characteristics, the knowledge and skills, and the psychological state of mind required to be a true warrior trader. You'll be introduced to some fresh and unique perspectives regarding the markets, by looking at fundamental and technical analysis, as well as discovering how best to trade within the markets as an individual. Most importantly, you'll learn how to take advantage of those moments when the perceptions of most traders (the herd) are at odds with the underlying reality-moments when fear, greed, and other emotions wreak havoc on the ordinary trader's ability to operate objectively.
Divided into three comprehensive parts, Warrior Trading will show you how to develop the focus, attitude, and mental discipline of a top trader so that you can make the most out of your time in the markets.

                  Campaign Trading
                  John Wiley & Sons | 1996-06 | ISBN: 047114150X | 245 pages | PDF | 1,4 MB

The thrust of the book is to look at the phases a market can go through and to develop an approach for trading the phase now in evidence. Sweeneys also present concepts for turning a loss generated by a phase change into a profitable reversal. This concept builds on the authors' other work, Maximum Adverse Excursion. The concepts are fully explained and a methodology is used to illustrate each. The authors are careful to note that the method used may not be what they use and may not be optimum, but rather is presented for illustrative purposes.

Nathan Lewis “Gold: The Once and Future Money"
                          Wiley | 2007-05-04 | ISBN: 0470047666 | 447 pages | PDF | 2,5 Mb

For most of the last three millennia, the world’s commercial centers have used one or another variant of a gold standard. It should be one of the best understood of human institutions, but it’s not. It’s one of the worst understood, by both its advocates and detractors. Though it has been spurned by governments many times, this has never been due to a fault of gold to serve its duty, but because governments had other plans for their currencies beyond maintaining their stability. And so, says Nathan Lewis, there is no reason to believe that the great monetary successes of the past four centuries, and indeed the past four millennia, could not be recreated in the next four centuries. In Gold, he makes a forceful, well-documented case for a worldwide return to the gold standard.
Governments and central bankers around the world today unanimously agree on the desirability of stable money, ever more so after some monetary disaster has reduced yet another economy to smoking ruins. Lewis shows how gold provides the stability needed to foster greater prosperity and productivity throughout the world. He offers an insightful look at money in all its forms, from the seventh century B.C. to the present day, explaining in straightforward layman’s terms the effects of inflation, deflation, and floating currencies along with their effect on prices, wages, taxes, and debt. He explains how the circulation of money is regulated by central banks and, in the process, demystifies the concepts of supply, demand, and the value of currency. And he illustrates how higher taxes diminish productivity, trade, and the stability of money. Lewis also provides an entertaining history of U.S. money and offers a sobering look at recent currency crises around the world, including the Asian monetary crisis of the late 1990s and the devastating currency devaluations in Russia, China, Mexico, and Yugoslavia.
Lewis’s ultimate conclusion is simple but powerful: gold has been adopted as money because it works. The gold standard produced decades and even centuries of stable money and economic abundance. If history is a guide, it will be done again.
Nathan Lewis was formerly the chief international economist of a firm that provided investment research for institutions. He now works for an asset management company based in New York. Lewis has written for the Financial Times, Asian Wall Street Journal, Japan Times, Pravda, and other publications. He has appeared on financial television in the United States, Japan, and the Middle East.

                              A. J. Monte, Rick Swope “The Market Guys' Five Points for Trading Success: Identify, Pinpoint, Strike, Protect and Act!"
                              Wiley | 2008-01-02 | ISBN: 0470138971 | 318 pages | PDF | 4 Mb

The Market Guys' Five Points for Trading Success is based on a philosophy developed by Swope and Monte that focuses on the basics of trading. In fact, they developed their Five Points for Success to keep traders focused on the five points that really matter when it comes to trading: 1. Trade in the direction of the trend; 2. Establish a clear support level so you can determine where you will exit if the trade moves against you; 3. Be sure the pivot point is going up on the day you buy; 4. Calculate your maximum loss as 10f your account value; 5. Take action -- once you buy your stock, place your stop loss order below the support level. These five lessons were developed by Monte and Swope during their own years as traders, as well as through their years speaking to hundreds of thousands of traders (both amateur and professional) during seminars. In The Market Guys' Five Points for Trading Success, Monte and Swope touch upon some of the biggest issues in the field, including the emotional and psychological issues related to trading, technical analysis techniques, and how to find the right broker.
